About

Tabernacle Federal Credit Union has as its mission the responsibility for providing an efficient, effective, and well-managed financial institution that meets the needs of its membership.  In order to accomplish this mission, the Tabernacle Federal Credit Union will continue a sound yet progressive asset management strategy and provide new and improved financial services to current and future members through membership input and management initiatives.

Mission Statement

Tabernacle Federal Credit Union was organized in 1960 to enable the members of Tabernacle Baptist Church to have a financial institution available that could help them overcome the inequities of the Augusta financial system. It would enable its members to make small, low cost loans and have savings that would give them the best returns possible.

TABFCU is designed to act primarily as a saving and lending institution for small loans, and through growth, it could become a lending institution that would be able to provide low cost financing for automobiles and homes. Its other mission is to provide a vehicle for our children to learn thrift and banking procedures that would be of benefit to them in the future. By accepting deposits and administering loans, these funds would be used to provide the member dividends which would in turn greatly lower the costs of loans and increase the return on the funds deposited. The program is Government controlled. Since its inception, TABFCU has loaned more than $400,000.00 in loans. Keeping in mind that we are a small loan institution this is a good amount of activity.

This financial institution can become a huge success with the participation of all the church members. It provides a great opportunity for you to save for your children’s education, Christmas, birthdays, and any other expenditure you might envision. Be mindful that as we grow in capitol, we grow in the ability to expand our lending. Also be mindful that this is YOUR banking institution and you have a voice in who handles your administration and how it operates. This is a CO-OP. YOUR CO-OP. If you are not a member, don’t wait any longer.
